The car listed here belongs to my father-In-Law, and has owned this car for a very long time . . . in fact over 26 years . .
It is in a running condition and has been looked after by me. I was an X Engineer with Ford and a Certified Automotive Technician for over 26 years and will tell you that I have looked after it . .
Sadly, the reverse gear (reverse band) has let go, and we have have spent enough money on this car as it is, so, it' time to move on and have decided to let it go.
Items which have been done on this car:
New water pump.
New heavy duty Century battery.
Cylinder head has been modified / reconditioned to be LPG compliant (this was done around 5 years ago) still going strong without any issues at all.
New NATRAD radiator (was replaced around 2 years ago)
Viscous coupling for engine fan replaced 12 months ago.
Exhaust system replaced 3 years ago.
Front left and right headlights replaced 3 years ago (NOS genuine Ford)
Without fail the engine has had oil intervals every 4,500k's or 6 months which came first.
Top of the range Cobra Immobiliser car alarm fitted 15 years ago - fully operational.
2 lots of genuine spare keys (Boot and Ignition keys) - 2 lots of Cobra Alarm pods (One is working perfectly, the spare remote is faulty)
Original owners booklet receipts of maintenance and repairs performed to this Ford.
New Bosch Alternator regulator (done 6 months ago)
Brake Master cylinder replaced 12 months ago.
The engine is perfect - as mentioned cylinder head was reconditioned and LPG compliant, . . please refer to photos - one very clean engine . . .
New bottom radiator hose when water pump was replaced also 12 months ago
What needs attention:
Tyres will not pass R.W. Spare wheel tyre is in very good condition . .
Aircon is not working, i know it's low on gas so, a complete vacuum down and top will get everything going again . .
Drivers door lock needs attention, the door lock is slightly sticky, but still operational.

The dash pad has a crack and the odometer has stopped 2 weeks ago. The rest of the cluster instruments, speedometer, battery voltage, oil, temp etc, work perfectly !
Windscreen has a scratch.
Heater tap may need to be replaced in the future . .
Front bumper bar had 2 scuff marks one on each side (no big deal easy fix by touch up guys) The exterior paint is in very good condition, so a good polish and it will look the way it should ! My father In Law is just too old to be hand washing the car, but I will tell you that the under the engine bay, rear boot balance around the boot seals door jams are very clean as it should (garaged . . ) and the car will still remain garaged until sold !
To the lucky winner, will be driven to show exactly what they are purchasing and to have a very good and realistic expectation of how the car drives - just like how my father-In-Law did for over 26 years !
The mighty Ford Fairmont drives the way it should. All forward 3 gears work well . . . on hard acceleration, the rear control arm bushes are slightly worn causing the common issue with the T-bar to move slightly forward . . apart from that, the car starts on LPG, or on Petrol as required.
What you see in the pictures is exactly what you will get, no if's no buts. The car as mentioned does have a Cobra alarm, factory 15'' Alloys 'snow-flake' wheels, rear tow bar assembly + tow bar tongue with ball and flat electrical plug ... spare matching snow flake wheel too.
There are some scuff marks on the front bumper bar. The body is in very good condition. One small dent on the right rear quarter panel (can be easily repaired) and one very small inverted dent on the bonnet (also easily prepared by lets say a dent doctor) and the rest of the body is in very good condition for it's age. One very small rust spot right rear wheel arch.
